Comets Pre-Season Game Will Benefit the John F. Kennedy Arena
- Updated: August 22, 2013
Utica Comets President Robert Esche has announced that the club will host a preseason contest at the John F. Kennedy Civic Arena in Rome, NY on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 4 p.m. All tickets, for the game against the Adirondack Phantoms, will be $5 and all proceeds from the game will be donated to the John F. Kennedy Civic Arena.
“It is a honor to have the Utica Comets play their first pre-season game at the JFK Civic Arena here in Rome.” said Rome Mayor Joseph R. Fusco, Jr. “It is a wonderful opportunity for the region hockey fans to visit our newly renovated arena. It is also special to the city of Rome because a Roman, Tom Sestito, who grew up playing at Kennedy Arena is now with the Comets’ parent organization, the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League. Rob Esche and his staff at the Utica Comets have been excellent to work with. We are hopeful that this pre-season game will be the start to a wonderful relationship with the Comets.”
“We are extremely excited to be partnering with the City of Rome and to be hosting our only local preseason game at JFK Arena,” said Esche. “We know that the Comets will have great support from the Rome community and we want to reciprocate that support in raising money for the John F. Kennedy Arena.”
Only 700 tickets will be available for purchase. Tickets will be on sale both Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 24, 25) from 10a.m. until 2 p.m. at John F. Kennedy Arena while supplies last.
The AHL regular season schedule will be announced today at 3pm. Please visit www.uticacomets.com for updates.
