Utica, NY – The Utica Comets defeated the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins by a score of 2-1 on Friday night at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.

Darren Archibald made it 2-0 halfway through the second period, splitting two defenders and deking Tristan Jarry for his 17th goal of the year. Michael Carcone picked up the assist as the Comets led 2-0 after 40 minutes.

Tom Kostopoulos scored his 19th of the year with 11:10 to go in the third period on the power play, tipping a shot from Dominik Simon. The Comets, led by goaltender Thatcher Demko, withstood the Penguins late flurry to secure the win.
