CANUCKS REASSIGN GOALTENDER THATCHER DEMKO TO THE COMETS

Utica, NY - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has reassigned goaltender Thatcher Demko to the Utica Comets.

Demko, 22, made his NHL debut on March 31 versus Columbus, making 26 saves to record his first win. In 42 games for the Comets this season, Demko has posted a record of 23-12-6. His 23 wins rank tied for fourth in the AHL while his .921 save percentage ranks tied for ninth.

The 6-4, 204-pound native of San Diego, California made his professional debut last season, posting a record of 22-17-4, .907 save percentage and 2.68 GAA with the Comets, which also included a six-game winning streak in the month of March.

Demko was selected by Vancouver in the second round, 36th overall, at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
