Battle of the Streaks: The Galaxy Cup always brings an intriguing matchup, but there is more on the line tonight than usual. Both teams carry point streaks into tonight. He also has four points (2-2-4) in his last seven games and has racked up three goals in four games against the Crunch this season. The second year forward has 16 points (12-4-16) in 34 games.
Red Hot: Reid Boucher continues to pile up points. Boucher has five points (3-2-5) in his last three games, including back-to-back two-point efforts. Boucher has also collected 13 points (5-8-13) in his last 10 games and leads all players with nine points (7-2-9) in five games against Syracuse. The forward has 55 points (27-28-55) in 44 games this season.
Power Surge: The Comets power play is heating up. Utica has scored at least one power play goal in five straight games, going 7-22 during that stretch, which includes a 2-4 performance Wednesday against Laval. The Comets are also operating at 20% on the man advantage against the Crunch this season. Overall, Utica’s power play ranks fourth in the AHL at 22.3%.
