COMETS ANNOUNCE 2019-20 PROMO SCHEDULE
Aug 23, 2019In anticipation of the upcoming season, the Utica Comets are proud to announce their promotional schedule for 2019-20. Returning this season are fan favorites such as post-game skate and Save of the Day Week, along with exciting new additions such as a two-day Oktoberfest and a Leap Year bar crawl. Make sure to follow the team through the whole season as future promos and giveaways are announced.
October 16 – Opening Night
After 185 days without Comets hockey at the Adirondack Bank Center, we’re back! Come down to The AUD when doors open on the new season as we take on the Syracuse Crunch in the first game of the Galaxy Cup series.
10/18 – Oktoberfest Day 1
Celebrate the season with our version of Oktoberfest! The multi-day festival opens with a celebratory keg tap at noon. Enjoy traditional food, music and beer on the AUD Plaza and stick around when we face the defending Calder Cup champion Charlotte Checkers at 7 p.m.
10/19 – Oktoberfest Day 2/Fan Fest
Oktoberfest rolls on for a second day on Saturday, October 19. The afternoon will be filled with live music, food and drinks (both on the plaza and at 72 Tavern), games and street hockey for kids, appearances by the Utica City FC players and a red-carpet entrance by your 2019-20 Utica Comets. New to the Fan Fest line-up this year will be an Arm-Wrestling tournament where you can prove that you’re the strongest fan! Later that night, the Comets will be in action when they take on the division rival Rochester Americans at 7 p.m.
10/30 – Comets Drawstring Bag Giveaway
With Halloween only a day away, you and the kids will be ready to trick or treat in style with a Comets drawstring bag. Puck drops at 7 pm as we try to spook the Binghamton Devils.
11/16 - Team Photo Giveaway and Post Game Autograph Session
Pick up your free 2019 Team Photo on the way into the building and stick around post game for a chance to have it signed by the whole team!
11/11 – Military Matinee Game
The Comets will play a special matinee game on Monday, November 11 against the Syracuse Crunch in honor of our nation’s military. In support of our commitment to the armed forces and Purple Heart recipients, the team will don custom jerseys to be auctioned off post-game.
11/27 – Utica Homecoming
Celebrate your hometown pride at Utica’s biggest homecoming party the night before Thanksgiving. Puck drops at 7 p.m. as our rivalry with the Syracuse Crunch trudges on in a pivotal North Division showdown.
12/6 – Christmas Tree Lighting/Ornament Giveaway
Deck the halls on December 6, when we take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Be sure to get to the Adirondack Bank Center early to get your collectible Comets Christmas ornament and to see the Christmas tree light up the night!
12/20 – Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl/Santa’s Coming!
For the third season, we will celebrate the holidays with an Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl! Stops are made at each of the Adirondack Bank Center’s bars with one lucky winner receiving a prize when they complete the crawl. Be sure to stick around postgame for a special holiday skate with your friends, family, and loved ones while your favorite carols play!
1/15 – 1/18 – Save of the Day Week
Save of the Day Week returns for the 2019-20 season to benefit the Save of the Day Foundation’s commitment to enhancing the lives of children and families throughout the Mohawk Valley and partnering with other charitable community organizations to bring good to our area. Once again, the team will wear fan-favorite commemorative jerseys (details on how to get your hands on this coveted memorabilia will be available later in the year). Additionally, the 50/50 pot will have a three-day carryover for your chance to win big while supporting an incredible cause!
2/29 – Leap Year Bar Crawl
What’s better than one bar crawl? Two! Our second bar crawl of the year will take place on February 29 (Leap Day) before we take on the Laval Rocket at 7 p.m. Come out and make the most of this extra day of drinking with your friends, family, and Utica Comets fans!
3/22 – Post-Game Skate
After we take on the Syracuse Crunch at 3 p.m. in what promises to be another wild Thruway Throwdown, join your favorite Comets on the ice for a post-game skate! Make a memory that will last a lifetime with your favorite hockey team!
4/8 & 4/10 – Fan Appreciation Week
The regular season will conclude with a Fan Appreciation Week on April 8 against the Rochester Americans and April 10 against the Cleveland Monsters! Join us as we say thank you to the best fans in hockey and celebrate what is sure to be another incredible season of Comets hockey!
