FAN APPRECIATION WEEK CONTINUES TONIGHT

COMETS ANNOUNCE DETAILS FOR FAN APPRECIATION WEEK

Apr 5, 2017

Utica, NY – Utica Comets President Robert Esche has announced the details to Fan Appreciation Week, celebrated over the final three regular season home games.

The weeks’ worth of celebration for the best fans in the American Hockey League begins on Sunday, April 9 at 3 p.m. against the St. John’s IceCaps, and runs through Wednesday and Friday’s games. Several prizes will be raffled off throughout all three games, including fan bags with player signed memorabilia, team signed jerseys and team signed sticks. In addition, gift cards from local businesses will be included in the prize packages. Fans can enter-to-win at the fan zone located outside the Labatt Blue entrance and must be present to win.

Also included in the Fan Appreciation raffle will be sets of handmade drink coasters, created by Utica Comets players at the Oneida Square Project. The coasters are created with mosaic tiles and each individually signed. These will be raffled off to raise awareness for the Oneida Square Project, whose mission is to provide jobs for people with significant barriers to employment who create art and to combat neighborhood blight to help make downtown Utica safer and more beautiful.

Additionally, during Sunday’s game, Chefs Express at the Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter will showcase their delicious cupcakes, Comet Cakes, at a table in the inner concourse next to the 50/50 kiosk. By providing a $4 donation to the Arc, fans will receive a choice of a chocolate mousse, vanilla and chocolate or red velvet cupcake. Chefs Express Comet Cakes are made fresh by people who are learning culinary arts at the Arc, a non-profit human services agency which provides advocacy and services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Oneida and Lewis Counties. Comet Cakes are cash only.

The yearly awards ceremony will be held prior to Sunday’s game on the ice. Fans are encouraged to arrive to their seats ten minutes prior to opening faceoff.

On Wednesday’s game against the Syracuse Crunch, all fans in attendance will receive a bobblehead of Utica’s own, Mike Zalewski, courtesy of New York State Tool. There is a limit of one bobblehead per fan in attendance and will be distributed upon entering the building through one of our three entrances. Please note, there is a no re-entry policy at The AUD.

For the second occasion this season, the 50/50 pot will be amassed over all three fan appreciation games. The winner will be drawn upon the conclusion of Friday’s game against the Hartford Wolfpack but does not need to be present to win. Included in the 50/50 drawings on Friday will also be the chance to win three team autographed jerseys. One winner will be drawn each period and jersey winners will be inserted back into the drawing for the cumulative 50/50 pot.
