CANUCKS REASSIGN DEFENSEMAN PATRICK WIERCIOCH

Utica, NY – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has reassigned defenseman Patrick Wiercioch to the Utica Comets.

Wiercioch, 27, has registered a goal in two games with the Comets this season. In 2016-17, he appeared in 57 games for Colorado, registering 12 points (4-8-12). His four goals ranked third among Avalanche defensemen while his 12 points ranked fifth. Prior to joining Colorado in 2016, the 6-5, 202-pound defenseman spent five seasons with the Ottawa Senators. In 268 career NHL games over parts of six seasons, Wiercioch has registered 74 points (16-58-74).

The Burnaby, British Columbia, native was selected in the second round, 42nd overall, at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
